General information about our Vegetable Vegan Algae Oil
Algae are mini plants that can make their own Omega-3 fatty acids in water. In nature, algae pass these on to "fatty" fish such as herring and sardine when eaten. This gives algae oil the power of fish oil. Because we make algae oil capsules from cultivated algae in a controlled environment, we also know for sure that it cannot contain contaminants from the ocean. The capsule shell is also vegetable because the gelatin has been replaced by, among other things, seaweed.
Why Is Taking an Omega-3 Supplement Helpful?
Omega-3 fats are one of our essential nutrients. That means that, as with most vitamins, you should get them through your diet. Because many people don't like the real oily fish (herring, mackerel, sardines), an Omega-3 supplement such as fish oil or algae oil is useful.
What does science say about omega-3?
Omega-3 fatty acids are among the nutrients that have been best researched. Thousands of studies have been done on the importance of these good fats for our health. That is why the European government has also drawn up official health claims, expressing the effect of the Omega-3 fats on the heart, brain, eyes, blood pressure, blood fat level and the unborn child.
Arctic Blue algae oil capsules are a 100% vegetable Omega-3 supplement, intended for vegetarians, vegans and women who want to become or are pregnant or breastfeeding. The capsules are small and easy to swallow with water. They contain fresh algae oil and do not cause 'fish oil regurgitation'. The packaging is compostable.

Ingredients: Algae oil (Schizochytrium sp), glycerol, modified starch, carrageenan (seaweed extract), high oleic sunflower oil, water, natural rosemary extract, antioxidant (tocopherols, ascorbyl palmitate), acidity regulator (disodium phosphate)
The vitamin E-containing natural antioxidant protects the sensitive Omega-3 fatty acids.
Vegetable tocopherols (including alpha tocopherol) is vitamin E and protects the sensitive Omega-3 fatty acids as an antioxidant. <1 mg per capsule.
Ascorbyl palmitate is the fat-soluble form of vitamin C and protects (like rosemary extract) as an antioxidant also the sensitive Omega-3 fatty acids. <1 mg per capsule.
Schizochytrium sp. is the name of the algae species. We are required by law to state these.
lycerol is a thickener that forms the capsule shell together with starch (see FAQ) and carrageenan. Together 25% of the whole capsule.
Disodium phosphate is a standard dietary acidity regulator that, in a miniscule amount (<3 mg), helps to ensure the firmness of the capsule.
The capsule is free from artificial flavors and free from preservatives, colors or sweeteners.
Gluten Free / Halal: Yes, both the oil and the capsule are 100% gluten free. Yes, the oil and capsule are Halal.
Composition: 1 capsule contains 500 mg of algae oil, of which 250 mg is Omega-3 DHA.
Use: 1 capsule per day.
With a greater need, it is safe for adults to take a maximum of 6 capsules per day. Do not take algae oil capsules on an empty stomach, but just before or right after a meal. Consult an expert before use in case of pregnancy, lactation, illness or medication.
