Irish sea moss is a superfood packed with minerals and antioxidants. It is rich in protein, iodine, iron, sodium, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, copper, sulfur, vitamins A, C, and carrageenan. In total, it contains an impressive 92 of the 102 minerals active in the human body, 15 of the 18 essential minerals.

Directions: Add 1 teaspoon (approx. 4 grams) finely ground to your food, shake, smoothie, or hot drink. Or make a gel (see recipe).
Did you know you can also use Irish sea moss as a thickener for soups, sauces, or cakes, but also, in gel form, as a face and hair mask to hydrate your skin?
Recipe Making a gel with Irish sea moss:
Take about 25 grams of sea moss and let it soak for 15 minutes. It will then expand completely. Then rinse it thoroughly under the tap. Remove any hard or unsightly bits.
Place the seaweed in a pan and add 1 liter of boiled water.
Bring it to a boil for about 2 minutes and then let it simmer for another 2 minutes.
Remove it from the heat and blend the mixture.
For a nice, smooth gel, you can choose to strain the mixture.
For an extra vitamin boost, flavor, and aroma, you can add lemon or orange juice.
Pour it into a sealable jar and refrigerate. It will thicken a little more.
If you want a thicker gel, use more seaweed and/or less water. The above ratio makes a nice, gelly gel, but still fluid.
