This alga is able to crystallize on its thallus mineral elements from the seawater such as calcium, magnesium, iron and trace elements. Lithothamnium is a 100% vegetable calcium and magnesium powder supplement. Lithothamnium contains an average of 32% easily absorbable calcium. It is a collaboration of no less than 74 sea minerals, all in a bioactive or highly absorbable form. The main component consists of an easily absorbable form of calcium carbonate: its structure is very open, porous and very moisturizing. Due to this composition, the calcium is well absorbed in the body. Due to the high content of calcium carbonate, lithothamnium is good for a normal acidity in the stomach and ensures a good acid-base balance. It can also be used during pregnancy. This unique vegetable mineral source, which is also very well absorbed in the body, is rich in calcium and therefore good for the calcium balance and the maintenance of strong bones. Lithothamnium is a great vegetarian remedy for people with an increased need for calcium (growth, transition and seniors). The regular use of Algaran Organic Shampoos may help to solve or at least prevent other types of hair and scalp problems, like dandruff. LSL free, parabens free. More info: Algaran shampoo’s formula is conforming the requirements of the Organic European Standards regarding detergents. Shampoos also contain Natural derivatives and Organic Seaweed Extract that are notoriously preventing the formation of dandruff. How Do We make the Seaweed extract? We gather the seaweed fresh from the shore, blend it immediately with oil, and perform an ultrasound-assisted extraction at a certain wavelength and frequency for about 10 minutes. The filtered oil will be quite dense, due to the content of organic silicon. Algaran uses the filtrate (by-product) as an ingredient with anti-inflammation properties. Organic Seaweed Shampoo has the power to balance the hair condition, is suitable for sensitive skin and fragile hair, especially the type with no essential oils added. A nice addition to the seaweed cookbooks is the new book by Malta-born and former chef of Yotam Ottolenghi's 'NOPI', Nicole Pisani. Seaweed has traditionally been an important culinary ingredient in Asia and has recently been rediscovered: cooking with seaweed is a trend worldwide, from California to Cornwall and from Scandinavia to Scotland. Seaweed is one of nature's healthiest products. It is rich in protein, soluble fiber and essential fatty acids, while it is low in calories. In addition, it contains a whole range of antioxidants, is good for the intestines and a good source of minerals. This book explores the history and healthy properties of this versatile ingredient, and of course it also includes recipes for delicious dishes, both sweet and savory, from soups and salads to popcorn, cocktails and skincare products.

This Caribbean table sauce recipe features the sweetness of ripe and juicy guava with hot Madame Jeanette peppers and seaweed (dulse). Madame Jeanette (Capsicum chinense) is a hot, yellow chili pepper cultivar native to Suriname. This pepper is very hot, on average 65x hotter than the Spanish red pepper on the Scoville scale (developed by Wilbur Scoville in 1912, measures the hotness of chili peppers and spicy sauces). Really for the lover of very spicy! The taste is slightly fruity and reminiscent of mango and pineapple. Award winner, Silver Medal, at the Clifton Chilli Club's 2023 National Chilli Awards.
